Access to consistent, quality, primary care services for pregnant and birthing patients can be challenging, especially for health center patients located in rural areas or impacted by social determinants of health (SDOH). Health centers' capacity to serve their pregnant and birthing patients may be diminished if patients cannot come in for services, health centers lack clinical providers who can provide and bill for these services, or health centers face workforce shortages or provider burnout. This webinar will discuss how health centers can provide quality, primary care services beyond the four walls, address workforce shortages and provider burnout, and meet the ongoing and evolving needs of their pregnant and birthing patients.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Assess barriers and SDOH that might affect access to care for pregnant and birthing patients
  • Understand how to address cultural, language, and other barriers that may affect quality care and clinical outcomes for pregnant and birthing patients, from conception to 12 months post-partum
  • Develop strategies to more efficiently and effectively care for pregnant and birthing patients
  • Identify partnership opportunities to meet the ongoing needs of pregnant and birthing patients, improve clinic operations and address provider burnout
